Historical USS Pampanito - This WWII submarine saw action in the Pacific theater and now is home to self-guided audio-tape tours. Located at the end of Taylor Street at Pier 45. Hyde Street Pier Historic Ships - Located at the foot of Hyde Street lies a collection of ships dating back to the late 19th century. Visitors can board three of the ships: Balclutha, a three-masted, square-rigged sailing vessel, C.A. Thayer, a coastal lumber schooner, and the Eureka, one the largest ferry operating on the San Francisco Bay. Wells Fargo History Museum -
Located within the Wells Fargo Bank Building, this museum is home to a
stagecoach, relics of the gold rush, nuggets, and other articles. Mission San Francisco De Asis
(Mission Dolores) - One of the oldest buildings in San Francisco, the
Mission was founded in 1776 and still contains some of the original books
and decorations brought from Spain and Mexico. The altar is one of the
most ornate among missions and the rough-hewn redwood floors are still
held together by rawhide. |
