Interstate 95 (I-95) runs through the city along the Delaware River,
providing transportation from Florida to Maine. The city is also served
by
Interstate 76, and
the
Pennsylvania Turnpike. Also, after finally fully opening in 1991, the Northeast Extension (Interstate 476) connects I-95 to the Pennsylvania Turnpike north of the city. Interstate 676, the Vine Street Expressway, was also completed in 1991 and serves as a link between I-95 and I-76. Air Travel - Home to two busy airports which see frequent tourist as well as business traffic: Philadelphia International Airport - PHL is located just eight
miles from downtown Philadelphia with easy access via taxi, train,
limousine and shuttle services.
Northeast Philadelphia Airport - Northeast Philadelphia Airport is
just minutes northeast of Philadelphia. Public Transportation - Philadelphia and surrounding areas is
served by the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA).
SEPTA provides public transportation services in Bucks, Chester, Delaware,
Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties, with selected rail service in New
Jersey and the State of Delaware. |
