	Museums The Charleston Museum, established in 1773, is considered the nation's oldest museum. Although it focuses on Charleston and the low-country, the museum also houses displays on archeology, cultural history, decorative arts, natural history and ornithology. 360 Meeting St. Phone: (843) 722-2996 The Cidadel Museum features exhibitions tracing the college's history from 1842 to the present, while depicting the academic, social, athletic, and military aspects of cadet life.
