Griffith Park
Griffith Park encompasses 4210 acres of both landscaped and natural
terrain. It is located in the eastern Santa Monica mountain range and
fluctuates in elevation from 384 to 1,625 feet above sea level. There
are all kinds of activities to do from the usual camping and hiking to
soccer, tennis and horseback riding. The park is open from 6am to 10pm
daily, however many activities are stopped at sunset. Not to be missed
either is the Griffith Observatory, located within the park, and worth a
day’s visit by itself.

Los County Arboretum & Botanical Garden
This 127 acre site is host to plants and wildlife alike. In addition to
the grounds that you can peruse, the center offers numerous classes,
educational seminars and horticultural expositions. The grounds are open
from 9am to 4:30pm daily.
